What changed
Previously, every request was reviewed by hand and most decisions took up to 48 hours. Starting today, submitting the request form issues a working API key immediately. No waiting, no email back-and-forth.
What you get instantly
Every approved request now receives a sample-scope key:
- 20 requests per hour per key
- 90-day expiry
- Access to every published dataset, at the sample-tier cap
- Full watermarked responses, identical format to production
This is enough to evaluate the row format, test integration with your training pipeline, and confirm the data fits your use case.
What still requires review
Full-scope keys — 100 requests per hour, no sample cap — are still issued manually. If your evaluation goes well and you need the full corpus, reply to your confirmation email and we'll upgrade you.
Why the split
The sample tier removes the friction of waiting, without removing the gate on full-corpus access. It's the same trade-off most API platforms make: easy to start, deliberate to scale.
Existing keys
Nothing changes for keys already issued. Same scope, same expiry, same limits. If your key was issued before today, it keeps working exactly as it did.
